Estimating somatic growth of fishes from maximum age or maturity

Growth in body size is a key life-history trait that has coevolved and interlinked with maturation, maximum age, mortality, generation time, the intrinsic rate of population growth. parameters are therefore required inputs majority assessment models used conservation or fisheries management. However, because difficulties involved proper aging individuals, growth unknown for vast species. Here, two new data-limited methods presented to estimate somatic from length combined either age at maturation age. A comparison existing fishes (Actinopterygii Elasmobranchii) shows estimates fall within range established methods. The apply species indeterminate growth, such as invertebrates, were here produce first parameter 110 fishes.
